The Department of Health and Human Physiology has an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as the Assistant to the DEO (Departmental Executive Officer, or Department Chair).
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Support and Management
- Manage the DEO's schedule, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
- Coordinate faculty and executive committee meetings, including agenda distribution and minute-taking.
- Assist in planning and executing special events.
- Administration
- Provide administrative supervision to student employees.
- Coordinate with marketing and outreach teams to develop content for print, website, and social media.
- Purchasing and Finance
- Purchase supplies and services for the department.
- Compile and verify procurement card receipts.
- Supporting Faculty Search Processes
- Communicate with faculty candidates to arrange campus visits.
- Coordinate travel and expense reimbursements for faculty candidates visiting campus for interviews.

Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative or executive support position.
- Extensive proficiency in computer software applications.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations, especially procedures and policies pertaining to faculty review, promotion and recruiting.
- Proficiency in UI systems including MAUI, ICON, ProTrav, procurement and other systems.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks; ability to multi-task and work as a team.
- Experience supervising students and / or professional staff.
