Coordinator- Like Me Education Program

Description

• Supports and promotes the integration of the Lourdes University mission within the Like Me program.
• Maintains ongoing communication with faculty, staff, students, and administration and regularly attends the required division, college, and university meetings.
• Collaborates with community partner k-12 schools in consultation with the Education Division Chair at Lourdes University.
• Assures academic integrity of program :

1. Collaborates with partner k-12 schools to build educational opportunities for k-12 students in education such as College Credit Plus, dual enrollment, in services, and EdRising support.

2. Monitors students’ academic progress and compliance with assessment gates

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Like Me program :
• 1. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with students of color who are interested and / or participants in the program;

recruits, mentors, and advises all students in the program.

2. Establishes and implements a recruitment plan to attract students to the education program at Lourdes University

3. Organize tutoring and academic coaching support through Academic Success Center for all participants

4. Maintains positive relationships with partner schools and seeks to build additional partnerships with k-12 schools

5. Participates and supports fundraising efforts for program with Institutional Advancement

6. Assesses the quality of the experience through collection of data and information.

7. Keeps accurate records of all forms related to the field experience and mentoring.

8. Organizes monthly meetings for participants in program

9. Designs and implements a job interview for participants in the program with partner schools.

Provides oversight and management of the program :

1. Organizes scholarship application and distribution.

Reports student progress and grades within Lourdes University system.

2. Develops supports for student matriculation in education and Like Me program.

3. Leads ongoing evaluation of program

4. Creates a regular communication plan with partner schools, students, donors, and recruits.

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to travel.
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage time, activity, and spending, staying focused on accomplishment of objectives, and meet preset goals.
• Proficient with system applications and on-line technology.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
• Desire to be actively involved with the campus community.
• A high degree of personal integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to pass a background check.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required, master’s degree preferred
• Two+ years in a related educational position and / or higher education preferred.
• Background in educational recruitment
