Simon & Schuster's Legal Department is looking for a full-time Privacy Operations Manager or Paralegal with privacy experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collegial and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist the Legal Department with implementation of a comprehensive privacy management and data governance program, including :
- Coordinating privacy and data governance compliance across cross-functional teams;
- Managing full lifecycle of Data Subject Requests (DSRs) under CPRA, GDPR, and other global privacy laws;
- Monitoring, updating, and maintaining various modules within the company's privacy platform, including Cookie Consent and Privacy Rights Automation;
- Supporting contract and data privacy addendum management;
- Conducting privacy / infosec assessments of third-party vendors;
- Assisting with annual compliance reviews and periodic trainings;
- Managing Privacy Administrator inbox; and
- Managing privacy and data governance projects as needed.
Requirements :
- Undergraduate degree and / or paralegal certificate CIPP / CIPM / CIPT strongly preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of CCPA / CPRA, GDPR, and other applicable global privacy laws.
- 2+ years experience working on end-to-end management of a privacy program, including a proven track record of effectively managing DSRs
- Familiarity with OneTrust platform preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Prompt responsiveness and excellent follow-through skills
