We’re looking for flexible, dynamic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Assessment Planning Unit (SAPU).
The unit consists of an assessment area a mixture of trolleys and chairs - and 8 short stay in-patient beds. We assess acute general surgical presentations that bypass the Emergency Department from the GP, as well as care for patients from other surgical specialities.
As the successful candidate you will demonstrate core competencies in nursing, and be keen to develop new skills and knowledge within a variety of surgical specialities.
You’ll have a passion for surgical nursing, the ability to function efficiently in a team and a desire to provide evidence-base quality nursing care.

SAPU is an acute fast paced environment providing assessment and inpatient care. We are a small team of enthusiastic, passionate and flexible Registered Nurses who valued team effort.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide best health outcomes for patient and whanau. We work closely with other areas to improve the flow of the hospital.
Moū About you
We are looking for Registered Nurses with :
- Minimum 12 months Surgical experience
- A current Annual Practising Certificate
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment that values teamwork and dynamics
- Completed CAP / NETP Programme
