The Commerical Product Managers primary role is to call upon new and existing customers and develop new business opportunities in the local markets.
The sales person will coordinate closely with our inside sales support team and our vendors to plan and execute the promotion of products and services to our customers.
The development and execution of a detailed annual sales plan will also be a critical requirement for this position.
Position Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Roofing Products Manager to lead and oversee our roofing product portfolio.
This role is crucial in ensuring our product offerings meet market demands, align with industry standards, and drive our business growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing products, market analysis, and product management.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Management : Oversee the entire lifecycle of commercial roofing products, from development to market introduction and beyond.
Ensure product performance meets quality and compliance standards.
Market Analysis : Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Use insights to develop and refine product strategies and roadmaps.
Product Development : Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to drive innovation in product design and functionality.
Manage product testing, validation, and certification processes.
Sales Support : Work closely with the sales team to provide technical support, product training, and marketing materials.
Assist in developing sales strategies and promotional campaigns to drive product adoption.
Vendor Management : Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
Customer Engagement : Act as a liaison between customers and the company, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and gathering feedback to improve product offerings.
Financial Management : Develop and manage product budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability analyses. Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize financial outcomes.
Compliance and Standards : Ensure all products adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Stay updated on industry changes and ensure products are compliant with new requirements.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, MBA) is a plus.
Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the commercial roofing or construction industry.
Proven track record in managing product portfolios and driving market success.
Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in product management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of roofing materials, construction practices, and industry regulations.
Attributes : Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Prior success selling roofing and / or building products in a B2B environment.
Prior success managing a multi-million dollar territory. You must be able to demonstrate how you increased your territory, year-over-year and will do the same here.

Requires a person who is a self-starter, and has great organization and communication skills.
