Job Title : Fabrication Lead

Job Summary :
The Fabrication Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems for fabricating products.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production, quality control, and continuous improvement within the fabrication department.
The Fabrication Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
Design & Development :
Develop and optimize fabrication processes, tools, and equipment to enhance production efficiency.
Design jigs, fixtures, and other tooling to support manufacturing operations.
Work with the design engineering team to ensure that fabricated components meet specifications and are manufacturable.
Process Improvement :
Analyze current fabrication processes and identify areas for improvement.
Develop and execute process improvement projects to enhance product quality, reduce cycle time, and lower costs.
Quality Assurance :
Collaborate with the Quality team to establish and maintain quality standards for fabricated components.
Conduct root cause analysis of fabrication defects and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Project Management :
Lead and manage fabrication projects from concept through to production, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality objectives are met.
Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, production, and maintenance to ensure smooth project execution.
Technical Support :
Provide technical guidance and support to production teams on fabrication methods and best practices.
Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.
Documentation & Reporting :
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of fabrication processes, procedures, and equipment specifications.
Generate reports on process performance, project status, and key metrics for management review.
Health & Safety :
Promote a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Participate in safety audits and contribute to the development of safety protocols.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience : 3-5 years of experience in fabrication engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a similar role.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design and drafting.
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, machining, forming, and assembly.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Experience with ERP / MRP systems is a plus.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions :
Environment : The role involves working in both office and manufacturing environments. Regular exposure to machinery, noise, and potential hazards in the fabrication shop.
Physical Requirements : Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs as needed.
