Job Title : Machinist
Job Description
We are now hiring for all shifts for the role of Manual / CNC Machinist in Tampa, FL. This position involves reviewing electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job, calculating where to cut or bore into workpieces (such as steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon, or other materials), and determining the appropriate speed and material removal rate.
Responsibilities
- Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
- Calculate where to cut or bore into workpieces made from various materials.
- Determine the speed and material removal rate.
- Position the workpiece on the machine tool, set the controls, and make the cuts.
- Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine.
- Ensure the workpiece is properly lubricated and cooled.
- Detect problems by listening for specific sounds.
- Adjust cutting speeds to compensate for harmonic vibrations.
Essential Skills
- Manual Machinist
- Lathe and Milling experience
- Blueprint Reading
- Running Lathes with up to 50-60 inches of swing and length up to 40 feet
- Experience with Mills with spindle diameters of 4-5-6 inches
