Job Title : Machinist

Job Description

We are now hiring for all shifts for the role of Manual / CNC Machinist in Tampa, FL. This position involves reviewing electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job, calculating where to cut or bore into workpieces (such as steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon, or other materials), and determining the appropriate speed and material removal rate.

Responsibilities

• Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
• Calculate where to cut or bore into workpieces made from various materials.
• Determine the speed and material removal rate.
• Position the workpiece on the machine tool, set the controls, and make the cuts.
• Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine.
• Ensure the workpiece is properly lubricated and cooled.
• Detect problems by listening for specific sounds.
• Adjust cutting speeds to compensate for harmonic vibrations.

Essential Skills

• Manual Machinist
• Lathe and Milling experience
• Blueprint Reading
• Running Lathes with up to 50-60 inches of swing and length up to 40 feet
• Experience with Mills with spindle diameters of 4-5-6 inches

The work environment is an outdoor machine shop that is under cover. It is non-airconditioned but equipped with large industrial fans.
