Job Description :
Amwell Recovery is seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care to individuals with substance use disorders and mental health concerns in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine diagnoses and treatment plans for clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and other members of the treatment team.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate, in accordance with state regulations and evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Provide medication management and monitoring to clients, including follow-up visits and medication adjustments as needed.
- Offer psychoeducation to clients and their families on topics related to substance use disorders, mental health, medication management, and wellness.
- Collaborate with therapists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication management.
- Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision sessions to discuss client cases, treatment strategies, and program development initiatives.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, including maintaining client confidentiality and privacy.
Qualifications :
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry / Mental Health from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the state of Tennessee.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, preferably in an outpatient mental health or substance use disorder treatment setting.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment modalities for substance use disorders and mental health disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications used for documentation and communication.
