POSITION SUMMARY :
We are seeking a Director to lead the organization’s vision and success of our Architectural Signage division through sales and profitability, our people and culture, effective operations, and strong business knowledge.
Utilizing an in-depth knowledge of the market, financials, and the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, establish and support a structure that ensures the success of every stakeholder : partners, customers, vendors, and team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Sales / Revenue :
Sales / Revenue :
- Partners with Relationship Directors, CEO and Controller to develop annual sales budgets organized by customer.
- Responsible for meeting sales goals / budgets, assessing performance, providing insights and sales strategies to upper management.
- Develops clear strategic plans for growth and improvement via sales, customer relations, and operational initiatives to present to executive leadership.
- Analyzes the current and projected revenue and risk of each account and identifies opportunities.
Operations :
- Responsible for meeting operational P&L budget metrics and developing improvement plans where applicable.
- Oversees the activities of management to ensure they are meeting objectives and maintaining compliance with department policies and procedures.
- Establishes performance metrics and service levels for the division.
- Collaboratively establishing clear, challenging goals and associated metrics that support the organization’s vision and drive company profitability.
Customer Focused :
- Develops positive relationships, keeps in contact, and stays connected with high level client key contacts including answering their questions, resolving escalated conflicts, and providing effective solutions to issues that arise.
- Conducts strategic meetings with customers to gauge satisfaction, understand their current and future needs, and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Monitors customer sentiment to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction including the development of methods to record, assess, and analyze the customer survey feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Oversees the investigation of client complaints and ensure satisfactory resolution.
- Assigns new customers to RD's and PM's assuring good fit using Predictive Index (PI)
People & Culture :
- Create a climate of accountability, mutual trust, and respect, positivity, and growth of every team member.
- Accountable for 5 direct reports and 26 indirect reports.

- Must be a strong dynamic leader who provides guidance, motivation, and inspiration
- Must fully understand the dynamics of the division and lead personnel changes when needed with clarity and professionalism
- Establishes training and coaching programs for team members to ensure they are knowledgeable, proficient, and confident in their roles and Benson Signs products and services
- Responsible for making the final decision in a split consensus of department lead meetings.
Business Knowledge :
- Must have a strong understanding in all policies, workflows, and systems within the division
- Able to meet with high level customer contacts and be seen as highly knowledgeable and credible in Multifamily architectural signage.
- Proactively identify opportunities and areas to assist others in achieving the company’s objectives.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
- Preferred : Master’s Degree in Business Management
Work Experience :
- 5+ years in leading direct and indirect reports
- 5+ years in signage industry or job shop production environment
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, COMPETENCIES :
- Ability to set sales targets including designing and implementing a successful sales strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and communicate risks.
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to interpret and present complex data in an effective and useful manner to the audience.
- Provides servant leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to others in areas of expertise.
- Strong project management skills including information gathering, project planning, and working effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to provide direction to leaders within other departments.
- Understanding of product costing and able to calculate margins and revenue opportunities.
- Able to communicate complex solutions and recommendations to audiences without deep technical skills.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines ensuring effective task management.
- Organization and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capable of working independently and quickly grasping business processes and procedures.
- Ability to follow processes to meet company’s high-quality control standards.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Working at a computer and sitting for long periods of time. (sitting, talking, hearing)
- Vision abilities are required to proofread at close vision and confirm correct color and focus.
- Occasional travel : 20%
