As a Sterile Processing Technician you will be responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, assembly and sterilization of all instruments used in surgical services, and all required monitoring of equipment used in the processes.
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks :
- Performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, wrapping and sterilization of instruments and trays for use in surgical services.
- Competent in operation of disinfection and sterilization equipment.
- Performs and records Biological and Chemical monitoring of equipment.
- Maintains record of load contents associated with operation of sterilizers.
- Performs environmental sanitation of Surgical Services department as assigned.
- Assists in operating room turnover / environmental sanitation-equipment needs.
- Assists surgical personnel with maintaining appropriate inventory of instruments and supplies.
- Competent in disinfection and processing of flexible endoscopes.
- Utilizes PPE per infection control guidelines.
Sterile Processing Technicians should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
Sterile Processing Technicians must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS and SPT (CRCST) certification
Requirements* : BLS, CBSPD, 2 Years
