The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic A to work at our Levy Lexington Mill Services location in Lexington, NC .

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic A performs all functions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment.

This position allows for career progression into a Lead Man or Maintenance Manager.

Pay : $35-$45 / HR; Based on experience

$8,000 Hiring Bonus! A $3,000 sign-on bonus is paid on the first check, at 6 months an additional $2,000 will be paid, and the final $3,000 after 1 year of employment.

Shift / Schedule : Days, M-F, 7 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm

Responsibilities

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic A will :

  • Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
  • Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to the problem area
  • Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
  • Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
  • Read schematics
  • Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components
  • Meet customer service expectations

Skills

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic Experience 7+ years.
  • Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of off-road heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
  • Tier IV Emissions experience
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
  • Ability to manipulate components in hard-to-reach places with hands or tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
