The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting all operations of the Food and Beverage Department. This includes Banquets / Catering, Restaurant, Room Service and Lounge Bar.

To exceed hotel budget while delivering a positively memorable experience is had by guests through exceptional quality and service.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Oversees all operations that pertain to the Food and Beverage Department. These include Banquets / Catering, Restaurant, Room Service and Lounge Bar.
  • Works cohesively with the Food and Beverage Director and Executive Chef to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Focus is on overall guest service and product quality.
  • Cultivates a positive hotel culture that is both safe and secure.
  • Ensures that Food and Beverage Department is knowledge able daily activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.

Check guest request log, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.

  • Develop short term and long term operational plans for the department.
  • Meets or exceeds all financial and guest service obligations of the hotel.
  • Monitor and maintain hotel cleanliness expectations.
  • Ensure high associate morale by showing appreciation to associates who exceed guest expectations.
  • Develops and implements all hotel training programs.
  • Ensures that property maintains compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Answer guest inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and local area information
  • Assists with designs and execution of all menus for banquets / catering and outlets.
  • Has strong knowledge of POS systems and creates / updates system regularly with content and pricing.
  • Has strong knowledge of catering / banquet booking systems and creates / updates system regularly with content and pricing.
  • Works with room’s team to develop room packages.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest and proprietary information, protecting company assets.
  • Handles guest challenges in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Comply with all Legacy Hotel and IMG credit policies.
  • Handle requests for information, mail and messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform when working.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Legacy Hotel and IMG standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Establish and maintain consistent communications and team work with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
  • Have knowledge of and assist in emergency procedures as required.
  • Ensure logging and delivery of packages, mail and messages as needed to guests and meeting rooms.
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
  • Assist other departments when needed to ensure world class service to guests.
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Previous experience in hotel Food and Beverage or high-end restaurant / catering facility is required.
  • Hospitality degree preferred with at least 1 year of hotel department head experience OR 2 years hotel operations experience with 2 years hotel line level operations experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Micros Symphony experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret business and statistical reports and make decisions based on prior experience / opinions.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to make decisions based on reports.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing 60 lbs. or more
  • Ability to stand for durations of shift.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity while in stressful, high pressure situations.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must have a positive attitude and have a team mindset.
  • Ability to assistwhen needed.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
