Job Requirements :

  • Must be bilingual English / Spanish.
  • Dental front desk experience required (Will not considerless than 12 months for this temp role.)
  • EPICexperience is a big PLUS!
  • Candidates need tobe well versed in dental and the check in and out / schedulingworkflows.
  • Performs clerical duties to supportthe daily business activities of the department.

EssentialFunctions

Applies thestepbystep AWAKEN process to consistently fulfill our patientsneeds and help the Dental Department maintain excellent PatientSatisfaction scores.

AWAKEN : Anticipate Welcome Appreciate and Keepit real Excellence and Never.

  • Answerstelephones routes call takes messages and provides routineinformation to patients or staff. Responds to all telephoneinquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Provides guidance and direction to visitors and patients.Calls for transportation as necessary.
  • Verifies patients demographic and personal informationand enters them in the appropriate EHR program.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and eligibility by usingeligibility portal in Nextgen and MediCal.
  • Schedules appointments by telephone and in person;follows up on failed and cancelled appointments. Performs the 24 or48hour patient appointment reminder calls or updates status of textmessage calls into Dentrix.

Contacts patients if their provider isunavailable on any given day and documents any patientcancellations. Calls patients to backfill any open appointmentslots.

  • Covers for the Patient Service Leadwhen on leave and performs any task required from a PatientServices Lead.
  • Responsible to communicateequipment and office maintenance as needed.
  • Must collect patient payments copayments and deductiblesand generate accurate receipts for dental services rendered.Utilizes POS machine for Credit Card payment processing.
  • Collects all daily payments balances against Dentrixreports processes the needed documentation and personally deliversfund to Lead.
  • Presents treatment plan estimateand makes financial arrangement with patient at time ofconsultation based on the patients insurance coverage.

Generatesfinancial contracts explains and collects signatures from allprivate and sliding fee scale patients. Processes all financialcontracts and submits them to the billing departmentaccordingly.

  • Effectively identifies patientgrievances follows established protocols to resolve or determinesescalation level and need to refer to supervisors.
  • Performs follow up on unpaid accounts during the checkinor check out process to ensure collections report are within theorganizations expectations of 95% or above.
  • Keeps abreast of all changes via web and / or by leadershipwith regards to changes in MediCal coverage for dentalservice.
  • Responsible for creating a patientrecord for all new patients.
  • If neededresponsible for assisting patients in the filling out ofregistration and Medical History forms.
  • Responsible for organizing new patient charts and ensuresthat all needed documents are signed by patient.
  • Responsible for sorting correspondence and referrals etc.identify with label and scan into document center in EHRsystem.
  • Maintain privacy of all patientsemployee and volunteer information and access such information onlyon a needtoknow basis for business purposes. Comply with allHIPAA
  • regulations regarding corporateintegrity and security obligations.
  • Assures asignature on all reports correspondence referrals etc. from theappropriate provider before filing the chart.
  • Assists patients in completing a record release / requestform as needed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintains an adequate inventory of formsclerical supplies and Xerox paper.
  • Maintainsestablished departmental policies and procedures objectives qualityassurance program safety environmental and infection controlstandards.
  • Participates in educationalprograms and inservices meetings.
  • Attendsmeetings as required.
  • Attends morning orafternoon huddles as directed by Manager
  • Performs other related duties as assigned orrequested.

Supervisory Relationship

Reports directly to PSR Lead and DentalManager

Position Qualifications

Education

Minimum High School orequivalent.
