Job responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical issues for on-premise and Cloud applications (Java / J2EE, .Net, Cloud etc) or escalate and work with appropriate technology teams to provide solutions.
- Monitor infrastructure, servers, databases, distributed batch jobs.
- Focuses on quick incident mitigation primarily to reduce downtime for customers with End to end view of issues for objectivity.
- Drives Technical Bridges with information from monitoring and other specific tools.
- Provides technical leadership and decision taking for quick service restorations.
- Takes key decision in terms of failovers, isolating DC and preserving customer experience.
- Performs targeted flow-triage during major incidents using tools expertise.
- Coordination and communications during critical outage situations.
- Influence senior technology leads across organizations to ensure timely resolution of incidents.
- Ability to run production incident conferences bridges.
Required skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of applications (distributed, Mainframe, Middleware) or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud.
- Troubleshoot technical issues (Java / J2EE, .Net, or Cloud) and escalate and work with appropriate technology teams to provide solutions.
- Strong technical background in Middleware (WebSphere, Tomcat and Web Servers), Cloud technologies (AWS, Dockers & Kubernetes), Monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace and Grafana), Unix, DB2, Cassandra and Retail banking channel application flows.
- Specific knowledge of IT infrastructure including networks, storage networks, load balancing, content delivery network, server clustering, databases, and application architecture.
- Experience in building monitoring dashboards through Dynatrace and ability to triage application performance through deep diving using Dynatrace.
- Experience in setting up Splunk alerting and monitoring.
- Understanding of HAProxy (context-based routing) and Pivotal Gemfire (extended L2 cache).
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming (Java, Python).
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
- Exposure to processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
- Ability to provide weekend support as part of shift based coverage.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Retail banking experience.
- Customer-centric - preferable from technical support roles and / or professional services.
- Cloud Certification.
