Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections of commercial and industrial roofs to assess system types, conditions, and deficiencies.
- Document inspection findings with photographs, sketches, and detailed field notes.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, including condition assessments, scopes of work, and recommendations for repair, restoration, or replacement.
- Utilize tools such as moisture scans, core sampling, and infrared technology as needed for accurate analysis.
- Generate detailed roof take-offs using manual and digital tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, Eagle View, Edge Estimating).
- Develop accurate estimates for repair, maintenance, restoration, and reroof projects, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and foremen to communicate project scope and technical findings.
- Attend client meetings to present inspection results and support the sales process with technical expertise.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of roofing systems, code requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and safety standards.
- Organize and maintain records of site visits, estimates, reports, and client communications in accordance with company processes.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial roofing, with a focus on technical services, estimating, or inspections.Familiarity with commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, BUR, and modified bitumen.Strong knowledge of roof assemblies, flashing details, drainage systems, and repair techniques.Proficiency in roof estimating and CAD / roof layout software.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.Preferred certifications : OSHA 10 / 30, RRO (Registered Roof Observer), FAA Part 107 Drone License.Compensation
