About GiGi's Playhouse : Located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, GiGi's Playhouse was founded in 2003 by a mother who wanted a place for her daughter, GiGi, and other individuals with Down syndrome who could realize their dreams.
Twenty-one years later, we are growing across North America and have 59 locations and multiple openings each year. We expect to grow about 20% annually for the next three years.
We provide free, life-changing therapeutic, educational, and career training programs, providing 300,000 hours of programming in 2023 to individuals of all ages.

Position Summary : The Vice President of Programs will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all programs across the GiGi’s Playhouse network.
This role will ensure that all programs align with the organization's mission, vision, and goals, delivering high-quality, impactful services to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
The VP of Programming will be a thought leader in the Down syndrome community, assure that programs are participant-focused, and provide support for Playhouses to deliver these programs effectively.
This role is expected to continue the growth of both the number of programs and the number of people participating in programs.
Key Responsibilities :
Deliver Best in Class Family-Focused Programs : Develop and implement programs that are centered around the needs and goals of individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
Engage with participants and their families to gather feedback and ensure programs are meeting their needs and expectations.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with Playhouse leadership to ensure programs meet community needs and are aligned with organizational goals.
Provide a strategic approach to measuring and reporting on program impact to demonstrate the impact of our programs on individuals, families, and the community.
Support Playhouses to Deliver Best in Class Programs : Provide guidance and support to Playhouse staff to ensure the successful delivery of programs across all locations.
Develop and disseminate best practices, resources, and training materials to enhance program delivery and consistency. Foster a collaborative environment among Playhouses, encouraging the sharing of ideas, challenges, and successes.
Thought Leadership in the Down Syndrome Community : Serve as a thought leader and advocate for the Down syndrome community, representing GiGi’s Playhouse at conferences, events, and through various media channels.
Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in the field, integrating this knowledge into program development and delivery.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, researchers, educational institutions, and partner organizations.
Program Funding, Growth and Expansion : This role will partner with our Development team and play a critical role in developing grant requests and reports to funders to support the growth of our Programs.
Assure accuracy of program data and be able to use that data to create stories for funders, presentations, and the organization.
Strategically plan and implement initiatives to grow the number of programs offered by GiGi’s Playhouse. Develop and execute strategies to increase the number of participants in existing and new programs.
Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to promote programs and attract new participants.
Additional Responsibilities : Lead, mentor, and develop the programming team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining the highest levels of program quality and safety.
Prepare and manage the programming budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience developing and executing strategic programs for the Down syndrome community.
- Familiarity with non-profit operations and a passion for the mission of GiGi's Playhouse.
- Experience in grant writing and working with grant writers to fund and report on programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- GiGi’s is a tech-savvy nonprofit, and familiarity with Salesforce, MS Teams, or similar tools is required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Education and Experience :
- A college degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with a national or international non-profit is preferred.
- This position will be remote or hybrid.
