As a Senior Accounting Specialist you will have dynamic responsibilities associated with Capital One’s month-end closing and financial reporting processes, helping to ensure timely and accurate financial statements for our growth oriented organization.
You will work with an outstanding team to identify issues and collaborate on recommended solutions. You will have the opportunity to be involved in progressive project work that spans technology initiatives, automation efforts and accounting guidance changes with exposure to senior management.
You will have the opportunity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced time sensitive environment.
Responsibilities :
Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership.
Ensure accounting practices and documentation procedures are performed in accordance with accounting and governance policies and procedures.
Participate in key corporate Treasury projects such as system upgrades, automation efforts, enhancements, or process improvements
Engage in discussions on financial results with key business partners and provide ad hoc analysis as needed
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 1 year of accounting, or finance, or audit experience or a combination
At least 1 year of experience in banking or in reconciliation or a combination
Preferred Qualifications :
At least 1 year of experience with Python or SQL
At least 2 years of accounting, or finance, or audit experience or a combination
At least 2 years of experience in banking or in reconciliation or a combination
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
