Description
STV is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner out of the Philadelphia Office in the Northeast Transportation & Infrastructure Planning Practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting senior staff in the management of transportation planning projects in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The candidate will contribute technically to transportation and environmental planning efforts, including bus and rail planning, and will support in project controls and coordination, client interface, and QAQC.
The Transportation Planner is responsible for :
- Lead and assisting senior staff in managing transportation planning projects that rely on multi-disciplinary technical teams.
- Serve as Project Manager for project pursuits that provide the best opportunity for selection by client in such role
- Establishing and tracking project budgets, staffing, schedules, and coordination and QAQC of project deliverables.
- Performing and leading tasks as part of transportation planning projects.
- Expand market share with STV’s existing and future clients, including PennDOT, SEPTA, City of Philadelphia, DRPA, NJDOT, New Jersey Transit, Camden County, and others, through targeted client interaction and marketing, and oversight of ongoing work activities.
- Lead client mapping and management, market new clients, and pursue potential opportunities in coordination with STV’s Pennsylvania and New Jersey priorities.
- Support development of the STV’s planning department business plan consistent with the priorities and goals for prepositioning STV with the client and forming strategic teaming arrangements to win key projects.
- Serve in a meaningful technical role on current projects, such as the Glassboro-Camden Line PE, City of Philadelphia’s Transit First on-call, NJ Transit Bus Electrification program and other projects and on-calls to support the Northeast Planning department as needed to balance utilization goals and increase revenue opportunities.
- Help grow a high performing Philadelphia Planning Department to expand and maximize employee engagement, morale, innovation, technical and financial performance through instilling accountability, communication, ethics, teamwork, and a performance-rewarding office culture.
Required Experience :
- Master’s degree in planning or engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of related work experience in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
- Ability to manage staff and client relationships.
- Direct experience successfully delivering transportation planning studies, such as feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, and environmental reviews.
- Experience in the public sector, serving federal, state, and local transportation agency clients, is preferred.
- AICP or PE professional certification is required.
