We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant of Internal Reporting & Corporate Accounting that will support Lawson’s internal financial reporting function.
The Intermediate Accountant will support the planning and implementation of new processes and will ensure business results are achieved by translating company strategies into functional priorities and executable action plans.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. Employees work two days in the corporate office and can work remotely the remaining three days of the workweek.

- Internal Reporting Responsibilities :
- Develops technical accounting policies and procedures and ensures compliance among the operating segments.
- Manages the preparation of internal monthly financial statements and reports.
- Assists in the preparation of presentations for investors and Board of Directors.
- Works with external auditors during the audit process and as issues arise.
- Assists in special projects / ad hoc analysis as required.
External Reporting Responsibilities :
Supports the Manager External Reporting with the preparation of the Company’s external financial statements, including quarterly 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings, including MD&A, financial statements and footnotes.
Other Accounting Duties :
- Prepares account reconciliations, journal entries, and other schedules and communicates findings.
- Intercompany charge backs and settlements
- Share-based compensation
- Earnings per share
- Annual impairment analyses
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 3+ years of relevant experience including a combination of public accounting experience and corporate financial accounting and reporting experience in a medium to large size corporation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MBA or Master’s in Accounting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple groups and negotiate competing priorities.
- Well developed project management skills to facilitate the quarterly close process.
- Exceptional service orientation.
- Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
- Experience with SAP / BPC preferred
