About the TeamWe are a dynamic team of diversified expertise, creating a wide range of products celebrating ages and stages of Gear and other On-the-Go products for Kids, Teen & Baby.

About the RoleAs a Senior Designer for Gear Development, you will design Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen gear products, including backpacks, food storage, and travel products, as well as nursery diaper bags and accessories.

You will

design products using style, theme, and mood. You will present to the Design Director for approval.Owning Kids + Teen gear piece type designsOwning Kids + Teen Collaboration gearOwning Diaper Bag developmentsOwning Food Storage (kids, nursery on-the-go, teen) technical development through to final product.

Must have a good eye for color and print design and be able to apply cohesive palettes to any development. Ability in print design is a bonus!Owns the development of new personalized font styles within each season, from concept to final testing.

ResponsibilitiesTranslate trends into concepts that respond to business needs (e.g., price points, geographic considerations) for the relevant product category.

Develop SKU-level designs from conception through revisions to sample approval. Present to Head Designer for review and approval.

Create presentation boards.May present products and concepts to Merchandising.Gather market data on key fashion trends considering such elements as fabrication, materials, color schemes and designs.

Identify ideas to be developed.Track department samples and ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner.Work with overseas merchandising partnersMeet product development deadlines from Concept to final Production for each season

CriteriaMinimum 5 years product design experienceDegree in Design or equivalent experienceDesign skills, creative and inspirational thinker, deadline driven.

Expert in Photoshop and IllustratorKnowledge of product development process for retailStrong attention to detail - cognizant of measurements and colorPrint knowledgeThis role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $92,000-$105,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
