Associate Project Manager PMO Operations

The Associate Project Manager PMO Operations role is based in our North America Distribution Center (NAM DC) in Evansville, IN and is responsible for supporting continuous improvement activities at the DC.

This position identifies opportunities, facilitates key projects defined by the Global Operations Strategy Deployment, and drives companywide continuous improvement initiatives related to Global Supply Chain.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities :

  • Manages continuous improvement projects related to North America Distribution Center NAM DC
  • Leads and supports projects related to North American Supply Chain and Distribution to close gaps in Global Operations Strategy Deployment metrics
  • Manages project timelines and action items to ensure team is hitting target dates
  • Ensures the effective application of Lean process capabilities across all functions of the organization
  • Conducts root cause analyses and provides recommended solutions to improve operations
  • Accountable for capturing and communicating financial benefits resulting from performance-based improvements through data collection, problem analysis and effective project implementation
  • Leads projects aimed at achieving and improving base facility and HQ KPI’s
  • Serves as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain aligned
  • Defines, organizes activities around, and creates an environment of continuous improvement
  • Leads, trains, and mentors’ others in lean and continuous improvement methodology
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge and Skills Requirements :

  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to guide and lead non-technical personnel to technical solutions
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods (Toyota Production System preferred)
  • Ability to lead implementation of solutions in areas of business not under scope of responsibility
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, organizational skills, project planning and management and team building
  • Highly developed analytical, reasoning, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced skills in troubleshooting / problem solving in area of expertise
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, or other Quality Management System and associated tools (process mapping, VSM, PDCA, A3 and other tools)
  • Advanced computer experience in data processing / evaluation and analysis
  • Experience with associated tools : Smartsheet’s, ClickUp, process mapping, VSM, PDCA, A3, 4C’s, facilitating and other tools
  • Ability to work across teams and manage priorities to accomplish multiple tasks is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to quickly learn various warehouse management and supply chain related software
  • Passion for sports required, with passion / interest / knowledge for golf strongly preferred

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field of study
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience in project management and continuous improvement (additional experience required in lieu of degree)
  • Professional Certifications such as PMP, CSM, MPM, PPM, PgMP, PRINCE2, Lean, 5s, or other Quality Management Systems
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred

Work Environment / Physical Requirements :

  • Normal distribution center and office conditions with heavy computer and phone usage
  • Exposure to fumes, solvent, dirt, dust, and noise
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
  • Requires some travel : up to 10% overnight travel within the US
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
