We are seeking a Structural Inspector (CMT Inspector) to join our Portland, OR team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Complex and routine construction inspection of highway structures and materials to ensure compliance with construction contract specifications
  • Contract document control and reporting, including field measurements, calculations, and computations
  • Performing materials tests both in the field and laboratory for concrete, soils, aggregates, and other materials
  • Monitoring the construction Contractor’s operations for quality control, traffic control, safety, and environmental contract requirements
  • Assisting the Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Chief Inspector, as needed.
  • Leading and training other inspectors in conducting inspections
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. ed.

Requirements

Minimum requirements :

  • 0 years minimum experience in highway construction inspection and materials testing
  • 5 years minimum experience in bridge, retaining wall, and other structures construction inspection
  • Must have a proven history of working well with contractors and owners to accomplish construction tasks
  • Experience providing oversight of work zone traffic control and ensuring a safe work zone
  • Extensive knowledge with inspection of construction of bridges, culverts and other drainage structures
  • Extensive knowledge inspecting retaining wall construction
  • Extensive knowledge in the inspection of installation and relocation of utilities
  • Experience managing project environmental compliance
  • Must have considerable knowledge and experience working with concrete, soils, and aggregate
  • Experience reading and comprehending plans, specifications, shop drawings, and test procedures
  • Experience providing accurate contract administration and daily field reporting
  • Proficient written and verbal skills to communicate with PM, staff, contractor and other stakeholders
  • Participate in project meetings with contractors, project teams and other project stakeholders
  • Must have good driving record and a valid driver’s license

Technical requirements :

  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam (or similar PDF software) is preferred.
  • Must have or be able to quickly obtain certification in ACI Field, ACI Strength, and SWPPP States

Other miscellaneous qualities :

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Must be willing to work either day or night shifts
  • Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
  • Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
  • Moving, carrying, and lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds
  • Abide by Atlas health and safety policies and procedures
