- Communicate calmly and timely with kitchen and FOH staff.
- Ensure food meets spec, presentation, and guest modifications.
- Verify plates are served at the right temperature and garnished correctly.
- Account for every item on the ticket and manage course timing.
- Safely store tickets for reference.
- Maintain a clean, organized expo window.
- Properly care for equipment and utensils.
- Keep own kitchen work area organized.
- Follow food rotation procedures.
- Collaborate with servers and bartenders for special guest requests.
- Confirm correct plates for each FOH member.
- Ensure proper order entry in the point of sale system.
- Take ownership of and resolve guest issues promptly.
- Leave the establishment crumb-free and food-free at closing.
Required Skills Expo / Food Runner Qualifications
- At least one year of restaurant experience
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and keep active for long periods of time
