At Houston Methodist the Cath Lab RadiologicTechnologist I position is a Technologist who performscardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac CatheterizationLaboratory.
This position assists physicians with interventionaland therapeutic cardiac or electrophysiology procedures includingbut not limited to peripheral and coronary angioplasty stentsrotablators atherectomy laser and coronary ultrasound;
electrophysiology procedures including ablations and deviceimplantation. The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist I position is amember of the direct patient care team actively participates andscrubs into Cath Lab cases to assist with the movement andalignment of equipment as well as the control of radiationthroughout procedures.
This position delivers exceptional patientcare and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines establishedby radiology agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customerservice.
This position requires availability to be oncall.

SERVICE ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Performsinterventional and therapeutic cardiac or electrophysiologyprocedures including but not limited to peripheral and coronaryangioplasty stents rotablators artherectomy laser and coronaryultrasound;
electrophysiology procedures including ablations anddevice implantation; fluoroscopy and cine modalities as well asrecommending various radiological techniques to maximize bestvisualization of patients cardiacanatomy.
- Activelyparticipates and scrubs into Cath Lab cases to assist with themovement and alignment of equipment as while as the control ofradiation throughoutprocedures.
- Provides carefor the physical needs of patients by executing various Radiologicconcepts to maximize performance. This includes : positioningphysiology procedure preparation and technical factors.
Modifiestechnical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizescomplications / limitations associated with certain procedures.
Proactively identifies how to address these for optimumoutcomes.
Provides directassistance to physicians during diagnostic or special proceduresincluding assisting with steriletechnique.
QUALITY / SAFETYESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Followsradiation safety standards and conducts all imaging proceduresaccordingly. Properly utilizes patient radiation protection andimmobilization during diagnostic procedures.
Maintains propersterile techniques for procedures regularly practices aseptictechniques and ensures compliance with infection controlprocedures.
Complies with job departmental and hospital safetystandards practices andpolicies.
- Reports nearmisses and inputs errors promptly into documentation system toimprove processes and identify trends. Contributes toidentification of corrective actions and improvement activities andcontributes to meeting departmental and hospital targets forquality andsafety.
- Ensures allimaging equipment has had QC performed as required and is in safeworking order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to managementand regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures;
callsfor service ifneeded.

- Provides accurateand complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges atthe time service isdelivered.
- Uses resourcesefficiently; does not waste supplies. Selfmotivated toindependently manage time effectively and prioritize dailytasks.

- Oneyear experience as a Radiologic Technologist with Interventionalexperience highly preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSREQUIRED
- ARRTR RadiologicTechnologist Radiographer (ARRT) AND
- CMRT Certified MedicalRadiologic Technologist State Licensure Registration as a MedicalRadiologic Technologist (MRTGC) AND
- BLS Basic Life Support(AHA) AND
- ACLS AdvancedCardiac Life Support (AHA) within 6 months
