The Opportunity :
The Division Director will provide overall leadership to the Division of Pediatric Neurology, overseeing strategic planning, recruitment, and program development.
This role involves ensuring the integration of training and research programs with clinical services throughout the institution.
The Division Director will lead the division's support of the Department of Pediatrics' academic goals in research, education, and faculty development, reporting directly to the Chair of Pediatrics, Dr. Shervin Rabizadeh.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership and Community Building : Foster a sense of community within the Division of Pediatric Neurology and lead physicians in developing goals related to patient outcomes and safety.
- Strategic Collaboration : Achieve Medical Center strategic goals through collaboration with Service Line Directors, physician members, Medical Directors, Clinical Care Vice Presidents, nursing leadership, clinical program leaders, division directors, affiliate sites, and the medical staff.
- Professionalism and Innovation : Exhibit leadership, humanism, and professionalism. Demonstrate motivation and creativity, serving as the administrative leader and a catalyst for effective changes in the division.
- Research : Recruit research faculty and establish a clinical trials program.
The Ideal Candidate :
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead a diverse group, work with hospital and academic department partners using a collaborative approach, mentor junior faculty, and possess business skills, including financial budgeting and resource management.
Other qualities include a commitment to excellence in patient care, implementation of innovative patient care programs, experience with strategic program growth, and evidence of academic scholarly work.
Education / Certifications :
- Medical Degree (or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted California license as a Physician.
- Eligible for appointment to the appropriate academic rank in the CSMC Professorial Series.
