George Fox University announces a non-tenure track, full-time clinical instructor position in the College of Nursing, to begin August 1, 2024.

The College of Nursing is seeking a faculty member who is enthusiastic about educating the next generation of nurses in our growing pre-licensure baccalaureate program.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan, and have a passion for serving vulnerable populations and underserved communities.

Experience as a nurse educator with simulation and clinical teaching experience is also highly valued.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Supervising nursing students in the clinical environment, including skills lab, simulation, and various off campus sites.
  • Assessing and evaluating student clinical performance utilizing the clinical learning outcomes, competencies, and sub-competencies.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Participating in the ongoing and innovative work of the College of Nursing.
  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with healthcare agency professionals and other campus educators.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the College of Nursing's curriculum, policies, and requirements.
  • Maintaining clinical competence and knowledge in area(s) of expertise.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc.

and works well with a variety of people.

We're looking for candidates who have :

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing (eligible if in last year of MSN program).
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license.
  • Minimum of five years practicing as an RN.
  • Excellent professional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining consistently high professional standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a growing, innovative team.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and rank :

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.

Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
