The Erikson Institute Center for Children and Families is seeking to hire a staff clinician who specializes in working with infants and young children (birth to 8-years old) and their caregivers from a relationship-based perspective and can provide therapy services.
The role of the Staff Clinician is to be involved in all aspects of providing comprehensive assessment and treatment services to families with young children with developmental, social-emotional or behavioral challenges.
Therapeutic intervention will be provided through a relationship-based lens. Parent education and developmental guidance along with dyadic parent-infant / child treatment or family therapy or groups through an attachment lens are the modalities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Direct Clinical Activities
- Provide a minimum of 24 direct clinical hours of individual parent and dyadic parent-child services based on infant and early childhood mental health and developmental practice principles to families with children birth to age eight.
- Services may include meeting with caregivers individually, facilitating parent-child play therapy sessions, connecting with other service providers to collaborate around treatment, and completing necessary documentation and paperwork.
- Provide best practice therapeutic services.
- Support outreach efforts as needed.
- Be available to work two evenings per week until 7pm, adjusting start time appropriately.
- Active and reflective participant in regular clinical supervision.
- Attend professional development as discussed and determined by program and supervisor.
- There may be opportunities to facilitate presentations related to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and / or facilitating groups.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in weekly clinical team meetings, weekly individual clinical / reflective supervision and other required training opportunities.
- Complete all clinical and other paperwork and treatment documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications
- Licensed or license eligible as a Clinical Social Worker / Clinical Counselor / Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
- Experience working with infants and young children and their parents / caregivers
- Knowledge of attachment theory, infant and early childhood mental health and developmental practice
- Knowledge of child development, developmental neuroscience, complex trauma
- Experience with Child-Parent Psychotherapy and / or Circle of Security and IM+CANS desirable.
- Bilingual / bicultural Spanish speaking strongly preferred.
