Essential Job Duties

As a Compensation Analyst at BambooHR, you'll have the unique opportunity to make a real, visible impact as we scale our compensation strategy and structures.

You'll work closely with our Senior Compensation Analyst to ensure compensation at BambooHR is both market competitive and internally equitable.

You'll do this through analyzing detailed market data, creating scalable processes, and partnering across the organization to implement new strategies.

In your day-to-day work, you will :

  • Participate in and gather data from market-based compensation surveys
  • Benchmark jobs against market data to determine competitive compensation ranges for new positions
  • Analyze and manipulate pay data to find trends and propose new strategies
  • Transform data findings into actionable summaries and insights for leaders and departments
  • Conduct job evaluations and maintain accurate job descriptions for various roles
  • Provide guidance to managers on compensation-related matters, including job offers and other pay decisions
  • Prepare for and execute merit and promotion cycles (alongside our Finance team and Senior Compensation Analyst)
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g., compensation training, job titling, improving compensation planning processes, etc.)

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Experience : You have 2-5 years of experience as a compensation analyst, with a bachelor's degree in a business or analytical field.
  • Compensation Knowledge : You've built foundational understanding of compensation best practices - including benchmarking, compensation surveys, market competitiveness, internal equity, and merit and promotion cycles.
  • Excel Skills : You have excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills (some might say it's "off the charts!" pun intended).
  • Analytical Skills : You know how to gather, manipulate, and analyze data to arrive at actionable insights.
  • Collaboration : Relationship building is your thing. You're able to develop and maintain trusting partnerships across the whole organization.
  • Accountability : You have a strong sense of accountability. You meet deadlines, pivot quickly, and can navigate shifting priorities.
  • Communication : You've navigated pay conversations with employees in past roles and can deliver difficult messages with professionalism.
  • Location : You are located in the state of Utah.
