Description
SFI is responsible for Front-End Development support for a federal agency. Spatial Front, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr.
Front-End Developer to join our team based out of Washington, DC. The Sr. Front-End Developer designs, develops, tests and integrates custom Web applications and solutions interfacing with backend services.
Although the position is mostly remote, there is a possibility of on-site work in the DC Metro area.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and integrate custom Web applications and solutions interfacing with backend services.
- Develop a cloud-based web application.
- Interface with senior-level customer management and SMEs.
- Develop scalable, secure, cross-platform web applications.
- Resolve complex design, implementation and / or performance issues.
- Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability.
- Develop front end applications using HTML / CSS / JavaScript, and other front end development frameworks such as Angular.
- Work with a development team for the development of both front-end web applications and back-end services; assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting.
- Support all development and delivery activities, from requirements definition and specification to deployment and delivery to production.
- Consult with project teams and end users to identify new requirements; identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or substitute eight years of equivalent work experience.
- At least three (3) years of recent hands-on front end development experience, using HTML5 / CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap.
- Three (3) years of experience using Angular framework.
- Three (3) years of Web application, SOA, web service (SOAP or RESTful) development and deployment.
- Some experience in AWS log review.
- Experience in Cloud application development preferred.
- Experience using Postgres database preferred.
- Experience with unit testing preferred.
- Experience in developing innovative scalable, secure, cross-platform enterprise custom applications.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with development teams and customers.
Strongly Preferred
- Oracle Spatial.
- GIS and geocoding.
- Large-scale relational database design and development.
Desired Skills
- Experience in applying Agile / Scrum methodology.
- Experience leading multiple concurrent software development projects.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with development teams and customers.
Preferred but not required experience : ArcGIS, SQL Server.

- The salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
