Position Summary
The position is responsible for designing publications and communications in support of the primary marketing and communications efforts of the university.
The successful candidate will join the office of University Marketing and Communications and report to the director of branding and creative services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates concept, design and layout for publications and digital communications as needed, including brochures, ads, promotional items, email art support, fundraising materials, etc.
- Will be responsible for individually assigned projects and collaborative support for the biannual production of a university magazine.
- Prepares digital files for printing.
- Manages computer software, hardware and digital production files.
- Supports and helps manage university branding initiatives and policies.
- Works with vendors to ensure quality production of materials.
- Keeps abreast of trends and issues in print and digital communications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.

- Must have an extensive understanding of production processes, including file preparation, proofing and printing.
- Ability to work directly and cooperatively with multiple clients and vendors.
- Must be quality-focused and detail-oriented.

- Demonstrate effective follow-up. Required Education and / or Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
- Must have at least three years of experience in producing professional quality print publications and digital communication designs.
Preferred Education and / or Experience
- Prior experience in higher education is a plus but not mandatory.
