Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Director, Human Resources will work with senior leaders and their respective teams to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans to grow and evolve the organization.
This role brings a well-rounded, strategic perspective and experience to people planning with the senior leadership team.
In addition, the individual will bring a unique generalist background across all functional areas of HR (engagement, workforce planning, talent management, compliance, employee relations, total rewards, leadership development, etc.
to drive organization effectiveness and enable business results.
As an ambassador for the HR function with the business, the Director works collaboratively with all levels within the team to help them understand enterprise wide priorities and governance standards.
The Director will join an incredible team of HR professionals and act as the conscience of the company in the business, helping leaders bring to life TMX Group's mission, vision and values.
Key Accountabilities :
Support and coach the business area executives, leadership team and cross-functional areas to work as a high performing team
Support the development, delivery, and deployment of HR programs and processes (Performance Development, Compensation, Succession Planning, Engagement Survey and the Performance Review Cycle)
Provide local leadership to the HR team based in New York
Develop and implement a people strategy for the business
Advise on organization, team and job design to continually evolve and improve organizational effectiveness
Facilitate the prioritization of how to allocate resources with multiple competing priorities
Work with leaders to develop the outstanding value proposition to enable attraction and retention of top talent
Maintain a finger on the pulse of employee engagement and bring forward insights and action plans
Stay on to top of the latest trends, research, and practices in HR
Design change management plans that support the continuous evolution of the culture, strategy, and structure of TMX
Communicate and role model TMX culture, leadership, and values
Coach and provide insights on diversity and inclusion data and behaviours
Lead and inspire a high performing team, committed to continuous improvement
Key Qualifications :
Postsecondary education in Human Resources or relevant work experience. Post graduate studies in relevant field an asset (e.
g. Organization Behaviour, Adult Education, Psychology)
Minimum 7 years of proven experience as a Senior HR business partner
Excellent knowledge of relevant US employment legislation
Solid understanding of Canadian legislations including, but not limited to : Employment Standards, Human Rights, Privacy, Employment & Pay Equity, AODA, and Occupational H&S Act will be an asset
Excellent facilitator and communicator with strong client management skills, and a consultative, mutual problem solving approach
Has worked in an agile environment and demonstrates a preference for metrics and data-driven methodology to problem-solving with strong analytical and project management skills
Able to credibly challenge the business to set a high bar for their contribution to the success of the organization
Strategic problem solver with excellent judgement and negotiation / influencing skills
Comfortable with ambiguity and an environment that has regular change
Able to build trust, follow through, and act with integrity
Technologically proficient loves to be an early adopter and ideally has experience with the Google Suite

Salary Range : 140,000 to 160,000 USD per year
