POSITION DESCRIPTION

Lecturer in Music - Introduction to Electronic Music instructor

Academic year 2024-25 (winter quarter only)

The Department of Music at the University of California, Davis, announces an opening for an instructor to teach MUS 107A (Intro to Electronic Music).

The class is a survey of electronic music, with a focus on 20th / 21st century electronic music history, repertoire, and techniques.

Two weekly lectures and one weekly lab provide students with the knowledge and skills to create their own fixed-media work in response to the repertoire.

QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum qualifications for a position are a master's degree or equivalent professional experience, and experience working as electronic musician / sound artist or as historian of the subject.

Practical experience working with digital audio workstation software and / or with analog equipment is required. Experience working with a teaching assistant is a plus.

STARTING DATE : Winter Quarter (January-March 2025)
