Summary Statement : The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for all activities in the accounts payable function which includes customer vendor relations, check disbursements, 1099 and tax-related matters.
Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and maintains accurate records and control reports. Additionally, the Accounts Payable Manager will manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.
Primary Job Duties : Includes but is not limited to : Coach and develop the Accounts Payable team and manage their job performance.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements including SOX, IRS 1099, and internal control requirements.
Post, edit, balance and update accounts payable ledger into accounting system. Process account queries and respond to vendor queries as required.
Reconcile accounts and monitors Accounts Payable Ledger. Participate in and assist with coordination of month end closing.
Communicate problems or discrepancies to management in a timely and efficient manner. Utilize performance metrics to manage team performance and understand opportunities for improvement.
Assist in developing and implementing processes and procedures, and continuously optimizes to gain efficiency and drive productivity gains.
Monitor internal controls to assure compliance with established procedures related to accounts payable. Communicate and coordinate accounting policies, practices and procedures with the department and company managers.
Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing. Use personal device / cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
Perform other job-related duties as requested. Qualifications : Includes but is not limited to : Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (example Word, Excel).
Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to effectively communicate in English. Polished appearance and demeanor.
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to successfully mentor a team. Preferred : Working knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). Previous experience working in Accounts Payable in a large, luxury resort setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar related field. Minimum Education and Experience : At least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years of leadership or management experience in Accounts Payable or related field.
