Our client is a commercial real estate investment and asset management firm that owns and operates a portfolio of real estate assets throughout the Midwest, Southeast, and Mountain regions of the U.S.
Based in Ohio, the firm has successfully raised >
$400M across five funds from RIAs, HNWI, and FOs. With a planned Fund VI launch in the works, they're looking for an experienced Fundraiser to work alongside the Partners on the primary goal of successfully raising LP capital for their impending and future fund vehicles.
About the Opportunity
Arcana has been contracted to find and place a Head of Fundraising with its client, a commercial real estate private equity firm headquartered in Ohio.
The primary reason for the hire is to increase our client's business development capacity across its investment funds. The position will work closely with the firm’s Co-Founders, as well as other investor relations team members to define and implement best practices for business development initiatives, and successfully execute capital raising goals.
This will be the most senior fundraising position at the firm and will be responsible for activities relating to fundraising and LP relationship building.
The primary goal for this hire is to source and secure capital commitments for our client from their own established network of RIAs, UHNWI, and Family Offices, while continually growing their reach.
The Head of Fundraising is expected to work cohesively with company leadership and to lead a team in defining and guiding best practices for LP sourcing, investor relations, communications, and fundraising processes.
The finalist will bring demonstrated experience raising significant capital from RIAs and other private wealth channels for real estate investment vehicles and an active, relevant rolodex nationally.
Responsibilities
- Source, qualify, and capture LP commitments for Fund VI and future fund vehicles to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual capital raise targets.
- Collaborate with corporate leadership and the investment team on defining fundraising targets, timelines, and strategies including setting best practices for marketing and investor materials, data, events and roadshows.
- Support the expansion and management of relationships with existing / legacy clients as well as new and prospective LPs.
- Maintain research and internally communicate findings on industry market trends, competitor activities, and investor feedback to best position offerings.
- Continually identify strategies and opportunities for business development, client origination, and client retention.
Candidate Requirements
- 10+ years of similar real estate investment product sales and marketing experience, capital raising / fundraising experience, and investor relations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of multiple real estate investment fund structures and products.
- A track record and experience raising at least $50 to $100M annually for real estate investment offerings throughout the last few years.
- An active, relevant, and actionable rolodex of private wealth contacts (RIAs, HNWI, Family Offices).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong character, leadership capabilities, and a positive attitude.
- Based in one of the following locations with the ability to travel as needed : Ohio, South Florida, or Lexington, KY
