One position is for the day shift (9-5pm) and the second position is for the second shift (2-8pm).
Required Experience
BS or MS in Analytical Chemistry or Chemistry
Knowledge of GMP’s and Quality Systems
Experience in the use of Agilent GC and GC / MS analytical testing equipment
Experience in in working with Agilent Chemstation, Agilent Masshunter and Enhanced
Data Analysis software
The Quality Control chemist performs all the tasks necessary to ensure that all incoming and
outgoing materials meet the product specifications. This includes the GC / MS analysis and
identification of components of complex finished products, raw materials and other samples as
need be, obtaining physical constants and unique characterization parameters of samples as well
as other chromatographic, separation, and wet chemistry techniques. The QC Chemist follows
established procedures to ensure products are produced at the required quality. In close
consultation with the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control chemist may use his or her
experience and knowledge to optimize procedures and solve problems as they arise.
Job Responsibilities
Analysis of raw materials and finished products
QC verification of products to established specifications
Analytical testing using GC, GC / MS, FTIR, titrations, refractometry, densitometry,
polarimetry and melting point
Accurate reporting of all results (in and out of specification)
Verify calibration and / or calibrate equipment.
Maintaining QC files (hardcopies and electronic)
Meets work standards by following production, productivity, quality standards.
Complete and in-depth investigations of any problems or issues that may arise
