Ergon Inc. in Flowood, MS currently has an opening for a Project Controls Specialist in the Engineering Department.

The Project Controls Specialist supports the engineering team by implementing and managing project controls processes, systems, and tools.
This role involves tracking project progress, analyzing data, and reporting on project performance to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to desired quality standards.
Projects Controls Specialist Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Data Management and Analysis :
- Collect, organize, and analyze project data (e.g., schedules, costs, progress, risks).
- Prepare and maintain project dashboards and reports, identify trends, and highlight issues and opportunities.
- Scheduling and Progress Tracking :
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, including tracking progress and variances. Prepare schedule reports.
- Identify schedule optimization opportunities
- Cost Control :
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
- Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify cost savings opportunities
- Prepare cost reports.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) :
- Assist in the implementation and management of EVM systems.
- Calculate and analyze EVM metrics and prepare reports.
- Risk and Change Management :
- Assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of project risks.
- Track risk mitigation efforts and develop risk management plans.
- Support the change control process by documenting and tracking change requests and requests for information (RFI's).
- Assist in assessing the impact of changes on project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare and maintain project documentation (e.g., plans, procedures, records).
- Generate regular project status reports.
- Tools, Systems, Continuous Improvement :
- Proficiently use project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Implement and maintain project controls systems and tools.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
Project Controls Specialist Education and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field - IT, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Ergon offe1-3 years of experience in project controls or a related field.
- Knowledge of industry-specific project controls standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
