Job Title : Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Overview :
The CFO will support each of the privately held companies and will be responsible for strategic planning, administration, finance, and accounting matters at the Company.
Additionally, the CFO will support owner-family members on financial matters related to the Company. This role requires a motivated, hands-on leader with a strong work ethic who will be involved at both detailed and strategic levels.
Reporting to the President and the CEO, the CFO will be a key partner on the management team, leading efforts to develop strategic and annual plans for the businesses.
This is a full-time position suitable for a seasoned leader in their field.
Responsibilities :
General Responsibilities :
- Oversee all finance, accounting, and general administration within the Company.
- Develop and maintain strategic plans, directing the finance and accounting staff.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial statements.
- Monitor financial performance, measure and analyze results, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage the financial well-being of the Company by providing recommendations and insights based on financial projections, economic research, industry analysis, competitor analysis, and new business opportunities.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans in partnership with owners and management.
- Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including owners, investors, family members, bankers, and other key business partners.
- Serve as a financial advisor to the owners for wealth preservation and growth.
Strategic Planning and Leadership :
- Contribute financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to the strategic planning process.
- Establish functional objectives aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, and determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies.
- Design systems for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strong internal controls over Company assets.
- Implement change and resolve problems as a key management partner.
Financial Management :
- Study economic trends, evaluate acquisition and expansion prospects, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement, cost reduction, revenue growth, and systems enhancement.
- Identify capital needs to fund operations, strategic plans, and expansion.
- Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
- Maximize return on capital and other investments by identifying investment opportunities and managing relationships with key stakeholders.
Professional Development :
Stay updated on new regulations, participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar financial leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
Reporting Structure :
The CFO will report directly to the President and the CEO.
