Required License / Registration / Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and / or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.
g. handling of hazardous medications). Shift Dayshift; Either (7 : 00am 7 : 00pm) or (7 : 00am 5 : 30pm); 7 days on / 7 days off.
- Job Summary The Inpatient Pharmacy Senior Technician is responsible for maintaining stock inventory, including participating in the ordering process and ensuring proper storage and dating;
- processing, dispensing and delivering patient specific orders to assigned areas with timeliness and efficiency; replenishing automated medication dispensing cabinets;
assisting in the training of newly hired technicians, interns and student learners, and supporting the department with a patient-centered approach.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education / Experience Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and / or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
