WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Senior Benefits Strategy Consultant will serve as seasoned advisor to our benefits teams across City National Bank's (CNB) US benefits programs.

This role will apply knowledge-based decision-making tools to strategically guide the team through complex employee benefit decisions.

Under the general guidance of the Group Manager of Benefits the Senior Benefits Strategy Consultant is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of all benefits programs for City National Bank.

The Senior Benefits Strategy Consultant advises on the strategy, design, implementation, governance, and oversight of U.

S. benefits programs and ensures programs adhere to related regulations and business objectives. Lead and support program recommendations with fact-based analysis and market-competitive data, to advance benefits strategies, ensuring programs are aligned with business objectives and HR strategy, competitive within relevant markets, reflect the dynamic workforce, and are affordable and financially sustainable in the long term.

Additionally, the Senior Benefits Strategy Consultant serves as the subject matter expert in providing leave, disability, safety, and workers' compensation consultative services to colleagues, management, and Human Resources (HR) staff in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, bank policies, and all related employment laws.

The Senior Benefits Strategy Consultant must be able to collaborate successfully at all levels of the organization, including managers, HR team members, Legal, Finance, third party vendors, and colleagues.

What you will do Strategically advise and consult on U. S. benefit programs including health and welfare, wellness, retirement (401K and Non-Qualified), leave of absence / time away and worker’s compensation Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative and engaging benefit programs that differentiate us as an employer of choice Develop and implement US benefits strategy, policies, and procedures that support CNB business goals and attract and retain top talent Analyzes results of benefits utilization and performance metrics and reporting to support plan design recommendations Ensures compliance with all federal and local laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to U.

S. benefits programs Monitors benefit trends, benchmarking, and delivery mechanisms to align with the company’s strategic benefits vision Partner with key stakeholders to understand their needs and develop benefit programs that support their objectives and the needs of their teams Promotes continuous planning and improvement of benefits administration, process flows, communications and procedure efficacy Supports benefit renewal process in coordination with benefits brokers and consultants Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships to ensure colleagues and the company are getting the best value for their benefits spend Liaison with vendor risk management and legal to ensure proper and timely vendor due diligence Supports benefits communication planning including regulatory, educational, marketing and operational content Conducts benefit design and pricing comparisons and makes harmonization recommendations involved with mergers and acquisitions Ensure the development and maintenance of written plan documents, policies and related materials that accurately reflect program provisions and are compliant with applicable regulations Comply fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.

g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.). Complete all required training.

Must-Have* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related discipline, preferably HR, Business or Finance 8+ years of experience in benefits design, administration and management, with a deep understanding of benefit practices, laws & compliance in North America 8+ years of experience in compliance requirements for benefits programs, including experience with LOA, ADA, and other compliance programs Skills and Knowledge CBP (Certified Benefits Professional) and / or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Professional) certification preferred Thorough working knowledge of U.

S. benefit concepts, theories, emerging trends, and federal / state regulations Competence in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a strong results / goal orientation Proficient knowledge and management of Retirement Plans (401K and Non-Qualified) Strong vendor management experience, including experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships Demonstrated ability to convert business needs into transformational and viable recommendations Strong interpersonal, influence, and oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex benefit programs to employees and senior leaders Empathetic and practical, with the ability to balance employee needs with business priorities Sense of urgency, reasoning and drive to solve complex problems with effective solutions Collaborative and energetic, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team and stakeholders Experience with leaves of absence administration and paid time-off programs Progressively responsible experience in benefits administration demonstrating the ability to develop, implement and administer programs Advanced proficiency and experience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and strong working knowledge of HR systems and functional modules / platforms.

Compensation Starting base salary : $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
