Purchaser
This integral role is responsible for several key functions within our Construction Department. As our Purchaser, you will manage the procurement of materials and equipment to meet business needs.
This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing, purchase order management, inventory control, and ensuring the delivery of construction materials to job sites.
You will ensure that the project team’s commitments are met and contribute to creating and maintaining a document control system for shipping and receiving materials.
Your hands-on experience in purchasing and inventory management will serve as the foundation for your success in this outstanding career opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Principal Responsibilities :
- Procure materials and equipment to meet the needs of the Construction Department.
- Source vendors and suppliers for construction materials and equipment.
- Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project requirements.
- Control inventory, tracking stock levels and managing restocking needs.
- Coordinate and ensure the timely delivery of construction materials to job sites.
- Develop and maintain a document control system for managing shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that materials are procured and delivered according to project timelines and specifications.
- Monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with agreements and quality standards.
- Assist in cost analysis and budgeting related to procurement activities.
- Resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, or vendor disputes in a timely and effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Education
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in a construction environment.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with proven ability to develop and manage supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of document control, inventory management, and shipping / receiving processes.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings is advantageous.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, with a proven track record of thoroughness.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests with varying deadlines and levels of urgency.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
