Massage Therapist - Part Time

This position provides massage therapy services for up to 19 hours per week for Student Recreation Center patrons via appointment.

Typical weeks of bookings are dependent upon client interest aligning with massage therapist availability and facility operating hours, and typically range from 3 to 15 hours per week at the paid hourly rate between Required Job Qualifications

• Certification / LicensureCertified / licensed by a nationally recognized, accredited body, such as National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)Licensure to practice massage therapy in the state of Colorado
• ExperienceA minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed Massage Therapist

• Certification / LicensureCurrent membership in professional organization such as American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA)
• ExperienceExperience and / or certification in neuro-muscular, deep tissue, or visceral techniquesExperience with clients / patients with orthopedic diagnosisExperience completing medical records in SOAP note formatExperience working with a university population

Essential Duties Job Duty Category Massage Therapy Duty / Responsibility

• Treat clients professionally in a healthcare setting.
• Review and confer with clients about their medical histories and physical issues such as stress and / or pain location(s) to determine optimum massage techniques to apply for clients benefit.

Percentage Of Time 90 Job Duty Category Patient Guidance Duty / Responsibility

Based on client information and response to massage therapy, determine and communicate applicable guidance on restorative techniques to assist client in relaxation and improved physical functions.

Percentage Of Time 5 Job Duty Category Administration Duty / Responsibility

• Maintain appropriate clinical documentation on each client visit and consultation in written SOAP format.
• Consistently uphold all Campus Recreation department policies and procedures for patron and employee management relation to position;

critical thinking, problem solving within the limits of department policy and procedures, judgement to identify and apply existing guidelines, training, enforcement, and communication for employees.

• Uphold service ethic, professional appearance standards, and Emergency Action Plan response.
• Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and in-services as scheduled.
• Perform massage suite pre- and post-appointment inspection, set-up, and clean-up; report all supply, maintenance, and other issues and concerns to supervisor.
