As the Director, PLM kW Fiber Lasers, you will play a pivotal role in defining products that address market and customer needs in the micro-materials processing space related to kW Fiber lasers.
As a leader at Lumentum, you will work closely with the Engineering, Research and Development, Operations and Sales teams to define and manage the ultrafast laser product lines.
Your responsibilities include evaluating opportunities within commercial lasers markets, with a specific focus on semiconductor processing.
To drive maximum value, you will enhance existing business models and introduce new ones. In addition, your role involves a keen strategic assessment of industry trends and developments to identify future business opportunities.
Your expertise will extend to identifying and evaluating new product opportunities that align with our organizational goals.
This position requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of semiconductor processing and a proven track record in strategic market positioning and business model innovation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Define kW Fiber Laser systems and integration requirements, including optical, control, and integration, for key cutting and welding applications for the macro machining markets.
- Own the Profit and Loss performance of the product line, including building customer accounts and new business opportunities, and driving the engineering team to deliver against program objectives.
Determine the strategy for driving double-digit growth through new customer adoption and share of market expansion.
- Plan innovative product roadmap that addresses the dynamic needs of the key growth markets while maximizing value for customers and ROI for the Platform.
- Assess the market ecosystem including competitor positions, product strategies, segmentation, go-to-market strategy, and current / future product direction.
- Identify product-market-fit (PMF), including commercial and pricing aspects, for current and future kilowatt laser product lines.
- Facilitate customer visits to better understand the customer’s needs and implement solutions.
- Screen potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options;
resolving internal priorities.
- Drive Profit and Loss performance for the kW Fiber Laser product line.
- Provide market intelligence on investment and industry trends to enable a more focused marketing effort and work with Senior Management to shape Platform strategy.
- Collaborate with other departments and define the product specifications (from a commercial perspective), required personnel, and outside vendor relationships in the development of new products.
- Is the evangelist within Lumentum for our ultrafast products and market opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of kW Fiber Laser and systems technologies, trends and markets, allowing close collaboration with the CTO office for technical roadmap development.
Required Qualifications :
- Deep experience and knowledge of market ecosystem for kW Fiber lasers, including applications, customers, and suppliers.
- 10-15 years of Product Marketing, Business Development, and / or technical experience in a globally-recognized organization.
- Advanced University degree (Masters or higher) in a technical field. MBA degree a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to drive product line strategy.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Engineering experience designing, fabricating, and shipping kW Fiber Laser products.
Pay Range :
P90-USA-1 : $152, - $218,
