As the Product Manager for Solar Construction Machinery, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and integration of cutting-edge machinery essential for the installation of utility scale solar projects.

This role requires a deep understanding of construction machinery and the ability to collaborate effectively with third-party companies to develop novel methods for installing utility scale solar arrays.

There is around 25-50% travel, domestic and international, associated with this role.

Location : Flexible in United States, with a preference for Fremont, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for construction machinery tailored for utility scale solar installations, from concept ideation to market launch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, manufacturing, and operations to define product requirements, specifications, and timelines.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the utility scale solar industry.
  • Interface with third-party companies, suppliers, and contractors to develop strategic partnerships and integrate innovative technologies into our construction machinery solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and stakeholders on construction machinery capabilities and applications.
  • Develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies, sales collateral, and training materials to support the commercialization of new products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities, generate leads, and drive revenue growth in the utility scale solar market.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, regulations, and best practices related to construction machinery, solar energy, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Ability for 25-50% domestic and international travel associated with this role.

Qualifications

  • College degree, plus 5-10 years technical experience in heavy machinery design, applications, troubleshooting, field service or related experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Masters degree a plus.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in product management, preferably in the development and integration of large construction machinery or heavy equipment.
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to construction machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Foundation pile construction machinery experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel, domestically and internationally as needed.

Pay Range (Applicable to California)

140k-160k Depending on location and experience
