TYCOM CNO Availability and Maintenance Scheduler Coordinator

As TYCOM CNO Availability and Maintenance Scheduler Coordinator, you will provide the staff and stakeholders with current information and changes to CNO Availabilities.

You will maintain and update schedules as necessary. To be successful in this position you must be able to work with numerous stakeholders and be able to communicate changes as well as impacts to the schedules.

We are actively recruiting candidates for this position for future work which is expected to start in March .

Clearance Requirements :

Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain / maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and Common Access Card (CAC)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Update and maintain the Commander Surface Fleet Atlantic (CNSL) ship CNO availability schedules for review and discussion on daily basis
  • Draft CNO availability schedule change messages for release as required to promulgate changes to near term CNO availability dates.
  • Maintain / validate / report all changes / status to or creation of CNO availabilities in Navy Data Environment (NDE)
  • Review and disseminate message traffic for requests to change CNO availability dates, messages that impact or affect CNO availability planning or execution, or messages that deal with long range maintenance planning
  • Participate in Long Range Maintenance Planning (LRMP) discussions and decision making processes to represent surface ship scheduling interests, this includes Surface Master Plan (SMP), Availability Duration Scorecard (ADS) review, and CNSL instruction review and rewrite.
  • Participate in Fleet Forces Command (FFC) quarterly schedule review process.
  • Coordinate with other CNSL Fleet Maintenance Officer (N) personnel on changes to CNO availability execution that have potential to impact CNO availability duration and require schedule change.
  • Coordinate with CNSL N and CNSL Operations, Plans, and Policy Office (N) personnel on potential operational impacts or scheduling concerns relative to accomplishing TYCOM maintenance objectives.
  • Provide as needed communication with the Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), System Commands (SYSCOMs), Fleet Forces, Commander Surface Fleet Pacific (CNSP) and Naval Shipyard maintenance schedulers using official naval message traffic, e-mail correspondence, scheduled meetings and various conferences to ensure short term CNO maintenance availabilities align to port workloads and drydock availabilities.
  • Disseminate any RMC or CNSP provided CNO availability schedules within CNSL N and as designated.
  • Act as the CNSL liaison with points of contact from Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV), Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), and SYSCOM staffs to ensure long term schedules support Fleet Forces Command, Global Force Management (GFM) and OPNAV N Capability Plan time lines.
  • Review instructions or guidance that are concerned with or connected to CNO availability schedules, duration or planning.

Provide recommendations for changes or corrections as requested.

Ensure that deliverables as required by the position and contract are on time, are of high quality, contain few errors and contain accurate information.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience :

  • BA or BS degree required
  • Working knowledge of Surface Force Optimized Fleet Response Plan (OFRP) cycle and Maintenance Availability requirements
  • Proficient with reading and writing Naval Messages, including use of CMP program
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Three years of experience in scheduling depot level maintenance activities for US Naval vessels
  • One year of experience in scheduling operational activities for US Naval vessels.
  • Ten years of active Naval service with at least one tour at sea.
  • Two years of Shore Staff duty, working with other Naval shore activities.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

  • Experience with Surface Ship scheduling
  • LDO / Warrant or LCPO
  • SURFLANT / SURFMEPP staff

Physical Demands and Expectations :

  • Up to % travel
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to pounds), and standing;

occasional prolonged sitting

  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
