This is a per diem job with a set weekly schedule; we are looking for someone who is available Monday - Friday for either and / or both the morning shift 6 : 30a to 10a or 12p to 6p (approx 20 hours per week).
The Driver is responsible for providing safe and timely transportation of patients to and from Hampton Behavioral Health Center, both inpatient and outpatient appointments, therapy groups and sessions, and day and evening programs.
Mobility, agility, and the capability to bend, lift and stretch shall be required in order to perform the functions of the position as may be required to assist patients and others with physical restrictions i.
e. wheelchairs, walkers etc. The qualified applicant must be able to demonstrate a courteous, professional, understanding and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, visitors, physicians and others while ensuring confidentiality.
Must be able to provide safe transportation to and from the hospital daily and plans and coordinates travel route to minimize transportation time and client’s length of stay on the van.
Observes and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness and medical center policy regarding fire and safety regulations, infection control standards, smoking regulations, telephone usage and other rules governing conduct while at work.

Qualifications Driver conditions for Patient Transport include : Must be at least 21 years of age Hold a Valid New Jersey or Pennsylvania drivers license and insurance Have an acceptable driving record which will be verified through the state DMV;
no outstanding violations permitted Must agree to abide by and follow all policies and safety training as required High School or GED required.
Valid New Jersey or Pennsylvania Drivers License in good standing with state is required. Must be able to operate Hampton vehicles which include passenger vans and an SUV.
One year previous experience transporting patients and / or working in a mental health facility preferred.
