Job Description

You will play a critical role within the Firm and have exposure to senior management, Business heads, Regulators, and both internal and external audit.

You will help sets independent pricing and valuation adjustments policies, which will execute & generate results, and then work with Trading to remediate and prevent issues on an ongoing basis.

As a Senior Associate in the Valuation Control Group, you will be responsible for all aspects of the valuation control framework relating to products such as, but not limited to, swaps, options, physical commodities and financing structures.

The role also involves identifying and controlling potential valuation risk concentrations, uncertainty in pricing inputs, and valuation model uncertainty.

The Senior Associate will also be expected to provide insightful analysis using multiple market data sources through advanced analytics platforms.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist with the development of valuation framework reviews, monitoring of market relevant indicators to assist in calibrating pricing parameters
  • Apply fair value concept to comply with Financial Accounting Standards Board guidance on Fair Value Hierarchy disclosure
  • Implement new tools to enhance control efficiency and contribute to methodology enhancements
  • Act in a challenger capacity to ensure proper vetting of price valuation takes place
  • Partner with Quantitative Research and Model Review Groups to assess limitations in pricing models and implement compensating controls and / or model limitation adjustments
  • Partner with stakeholders on valuation related initiatives, regulatory exams and internal and external audit inquiries
  • Assist with management reporting of valuation results or other similar responsibilities

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills :

  • 5+ years of experience in derivatives valuation
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field
  • Good understanding and keen interest in financial markets, combined with strong analytical abilities and willingness to contribute as part of a high performing team
  • Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize complex subjects

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills :

  • Commodities markets and products experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of data science (e.g., Machine learning), analytics platform (e.g., Alteryx) and data visualization tool (e.g.

Tableau) a plus, python experience also a plus

Effective time management; ability to think strategically; critical thinker and ability to challenge constructively
