As the Desktop Services Manager, you will be responsible for developing and leading all aspects of Desktop Services group in our corporate office manufacturing facilities.
This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation and management of PC desktop strategy, technology, and functions.
Working with other departmental / service area managers and finding opportunities to build and communicate processes that improve customer service, user experience and measure performance.
You will ensure effective delivery of IS Services and contribute to the success of the Desktop program.
Responsibilities :
- Enforce and manage to company established Service Level Agreements to deliver excellent customer service and build strong internal relationships with all departments
- Analyze Desktop Support team performance using metrics and Key Performance Indicators to meet departments performance goals
- Design and implement procedures for improved customer satisfaction levels
- Develop and maintain policy and standards regarding the desktop and laptop computer environment (i.e., hardware / software / configuration)
- Develop and monitor procedures for software installation, version control and license compliance
- Seek to improve and refine team operations with a continuous improvement and customer-focused attitude
- Lead complex technical projects and deployments with components including Group Policy, scripting automation, MDT / SCCM, and patch management
- Evaluate new workstations, technologies, and related equipment as part of lifecycle replacements and project rollouts
- Manage policies for antivirus, encryption, MDM and print management systems
- Establish strategy, direction and operational planning for the Microsoft desktop platform and environment
- Find opportunities in processes to introduce automation and improve efficiency
- Coach and develop on-site and remote technical personnel
- Maintain department hardware and software inventories in support of the PC Lifecycle Management
- Collaborate with other IT managers in deployment and support of new products and services
- Manage hardware and software quotes, contracts and purchasing
- Track software licensing, subscriptions, and Hardware & Software maintenance agreements
Education & Experience :
- Enterprise imaging and desktop deployment and Application Packing technologies
- Knowledge and configuration of Windows 10 and Windows 7
- Experience with enterprise management and troubleshooting of Office365 suite
- Microsoft SCCM / Intune Administration
- Microsoft Active Directory and GPO Administration
- Azure / AWS Experience
- Networking Fundamentals : IPv4, DNS, etc.
- Knowledge of ITIL disciplines
- Experience directly leading a technical support team and remote teams
- Experience configuring, deploying, and leading workplace hardware, familiarity with networks, workstation, telephony, and mobility components
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Exhibit a high degree of professional excellence characterized by sound independent judgement, initiative and a high standard of ethics
- Proven project management skills and success leading large projects
- Ability to travel to US Manufacturing Facilities
