DESCRIPTION
Decypher is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to support Lackland AFB, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct an initial assessment of a student’s injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment
- Care for student injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and
medication
- Evaluate student's readiness to return to training and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted
- Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists
- Collaborate with physicians in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for student injuries
- Advise athletes on the proper use of equipment
- Plan and implement comprehensive student injury and illness prevention programs
- Supervise and conduct physical training programs with consideration to individual injuries
- Develop training programs and routines designed to improve student performance
- Provide care to student for medical issues on a daily basis and coordinate with appropriate military personnel along with the Paramedic, Coaches, Program Manager, and other contractor personnel as determined necessary for the situation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Texas State Athletic Trainer License (Must obtain within 4 months of employment)
- Certified Athletic Trainer (NATABOC or NATA)
- Basic Life Saver Certification (BLS)
- 2 years of experience with a collegiate or higher
- US Citizen
- NACI background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified in one of the following or willing to obtain : (CPT - NSCA or NASM, EXOS, PES, or HFS)
- Certified in all of the following or willing to obtain : (FMS, GT or IASTM, Kinesio Taping, ASTYM, and CPR)
