Position Focus :
Reporting to the YCCI Associate Director for Research Administration and Education, the position is responsible for the development and implementation of assigned program areas for the YCCI Research Administration team.
This position will support several YCCI project areas including grants, education, pilot program, and the evaluation unit.
A major responsibility is to ensure that program leadership receive high quality PM support in a manner compliant with University and grant policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include assistance with grant and sponsored project reporting, faculty support, maintaining good relationships among YCCI and other departments, and planning special events.
The Project Manager supports the assessment of each program’s operational challenges and impact and works to plan and implement program improvements.
The incumbent should be creative, self-directed, and a self-starter with the ability to work, plan, research, and conduct projects with minimal supervision and on a flexible schedule with the ability to work remotely including an adequate workspace with internet access and the willingness to travel on site upon request.
Essential Duties
1. Reviews and determines staffing needs, job posting requirements, salary guidelines, and labor agreement interpretations for exempt and non-exempt staff in one or more functional department of the University.
2. Manages the administrative support needs for exempt and nonexempt staff and provides recommendations, improvements, solutions and assistance as needed.
3. Manages and monitors technology needs, conducts inventory, and system requirements for the assigned departments. 4. Develops and prepares budgets, financial forecasts, and financial analyses and the actual vs.
budgeted performance reports for the departments. 5. Manages the use of facilities in one or more departments including office space, work stations, equipment, and office supplies.
6. Manages administrative support for activities of one or more departments to ensure timely completion of projects. 7. Manages and coordinates training sessions for assigned departments when new policies or practices are adopted.
8. Ensures compliance with University and federal regulations as they apply to the assigned departments. 9. Identifies, plans, and develops administrative policies for the assigned departments.
10. Assists in reviewing and implements University and departmental policies as they pertain to the administrative functions of the assigned department.
11. Assesses and makes recommendations regarding staff development and staffing levels. 12. Monitors, develops, plans, and executes systematic research on user requirements through such mechanisms as surveys, interviews, focus groups and competitive analysis.
13. Manages a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 14. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrates professionalism, maturity, good judgment, and the ability to work with confidential material.
Required Skill / Ability 2 :
Proven ability to manage several projects concurrently, while balancing competing priorities and deadlines. Extreme flexibility in work focus;
ability to switch among several different projects without any adverse effects. Excellent organizational skills.
Required Skill / Ability 3 :
Experience with large grants management including intramural and extramural all pre- and post-award activities. Proven understanding of various clinical and translational research methodologies and the lifecycle management for pilot and / or career development.
Required Skill / Ability 4 :
Proven superior interpersonal skills to interact effectively and positively represent the school with faculty, administrators, and colleagues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills :
Bachelors in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; work experience in medical / public health research, community health, and / or a community organization.
Experience in data analytics, project management and clinical / translational research, reviewing clinical research protocols and obtaining approvals from ethics committees or regulatory bodies is preferred.
