Licensed Practical Nurse
Brief Summary
Our LPNs provide quality nursing services to individuals in a Assisted Living environment and effectively execute the implementation and evaluation of a patient's care plan.
Our Assisted Living LPNs carefully follow professional standards of care, policies, and procedures. The Assisted Living LPN works in tandem with paraprofessionals in the administration of patient care.
Note : Many of our LPNs go on to become RNs and continue their invaluable service to our clients.)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension
- Dresses wounds, gives enemas, and other treatments as prescribed by physician
- Takes and records patient's vital signs. Records food and fluid intake and output
- Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients
- Administers specified medication orally, by injection, or by IV and notes time and amount on patients' charts
- Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
- Assembles and uses such equipment as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen suppliers
- Supervises 1-3 nursing staff on the wing and maintains patient care areas
- Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing
- Answers patient call lights and assists patients with activities of daily living as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related job experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
- Current CPR certification preferred (in-house training available)
- Capable of demonstrating compassion and appropriate boundaries with patients
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills, focusing on problem solving
- Ability to multi-task and show compassion
